Iceland found the first infected with a new strain of coronavirus Omicron.

The strain was recorded in a patient at a Reykjavik hospital. He was not abroad, so it is still unknown where and how he became infected.
This is the first case of Omicron infection in Iceland, it was discovered four days after the new border restrictions were imposed in the country to curb the spread of the virus.
From now on, anyone who has spent a day or more in South Africa must have a PCR test and quarantine within 14 days of arriving in Iceland.
On November 26, the World Health Organization named the strain the Greek letter Omicron.
Omicron has already been recorded in Europe, Australia, Israel, Hong Kong, Japan, North and Latin America.
