Among the members of the delegation who visited Kyiv region were Thomas Eredl, head of the Bundestag’s foreign affairs committee, and Knut Abraham, a member of the committee. As well as parliamentarians, members of the Bundestag Defense Committee Serap Guler and Kerstin Viregge.
“German parliamentarians were able to see with their own eyes the consequences of Russia’s atrocities: the worst places in Irpen and Bucha, the consequences of air strikes on civilian objects in Borodyanka. The main topic that Ukrainian parliamentarians discussed with their German counterparts was weapons for Ukraine.
“We thanked Germany for the support already provided to Ukraine and the first arms supplies. At the same time, the pace of armaments can be faster. For us, this means an opportunity to save our cities from destruction and save thousands of innocent lives,” Yanchenko said.
