The Russian dictator on Friday announced the annexation of four regions of Ukraine after conducting “pseudo-referendums” that Kyiv and Western governments condemned as illegal and coercive.
“The regions of Ukraine, which are now occupied by Russian troops, are the sovereign territory of Ukraine. No fictitious referendum will change that,” Wong said.
Australia has stated that Luhansk, Donetsk, Kherson and Zaporizhia regions are sovereign territory of Ukraine.
Canberra has also filed a lawsuit with the International Court of Justice in support of Ukraine’s lawsuit against Russia for violation of the Genocide Convention.
