As part of the pre-trial investigation, SBI officials established that the deputy, on the eve and after the start of a full-scale Russian invasion, posted propaganda materials in the media to the detriment of Ukraine.
In particular, starting from March 2021 and even after Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Renat Kuzmin voiced information that was of a propaganda nature in his speeches, messages on social networks and on his own website. Their goal was to form an anti-Ukrainian mood and information influence in society to harm the sovereignty, territorial integrity, inviolability and security of the state.
The actions of the suspect are qualified under Part 1 of Art. Art. 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (treason) for which the punishment is provided in the form of imprisonment of up to 15 years with confiscation of property.

According to the SBI, the whereabouts of Renat Kuzmin are currently being established, in particular, more than 10 simultaneous searches have been conducted at the places of his possible stay.
The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.

As UNN reported, in October 2017, the Prosecutor General’s Office of Ukraine issued a notice of suspicion to former First Deputy Prosecutor General Renat Kuzmin and director of the State Enterprise “Recreation Complex “Pushcha-Voditsa” of committing a number of crimes.
In particular, in the period of 2008-2010, Kuzmin, as Deputy Prosecutor General at that time, under a preliminary conspiracy in a group with the director of the State Enterprise “Recreation Complex “Pushcha-Voditsa”, committed an unauthorized illegal seizure of a state land plot of recreational purpose with an area of 1.0457 hectares on the territory of the State Enterprise “Recreation Complex “Pushcha-Voditsa”…, unauthorized illegal construction of a residential building with an area of 1068 square meters and adjacent structures on this unauthorizedly occupied state land plot for recreational purposes.
