She criticized the government in Tehran calling “someone who beats women and girls on the street, kidnaps people who want nothing but a free life, arbitrarily arrests them and sentences them to death, is on the wrong side of history.”
Mass protests have been going on in Iran for about three weeks over the death of Mahsa Amini. The young girl died on September 16 after being arrested in Tehran three days ago on charges that she did not wear a headscarf in accordance with the rules. According to activists, during her detention, she was beaten and died from a head injury.
