. In the de-occupied Lyman of the Donetsk region, police exhumed the bodies of five children who died as a result of Russian shelling. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs .

“Four children were found by investigators in mass burial in the cemetery. Another boy was buried by his mother in her own yard. It has been preliminarily established that all died from shrapnel wounds as a result of Russian shelling,” the message says.

As noted, girls, born in 2021, 2019 and 2008, and boys born in 2011 and 2012 were taken from spontaneous graves. The two smallest girls are sisters. After a forensic examination, the children will be reburied.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs reported that the investigative actions in Lyman last two weeks – at the site of the largest mass grave in the de-occupied part of the Donetsk region. Law enforcement officers also remove bodies from solitary burials in courtyards and gardens. Investigative and operational groups work continuously, search and interview relatives, establish the history of all the dead.
“As of the morning of October 18, a total of 35 servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and 131 civilians were exhumed in the Kramatorsk district. Among civilians – 67 men, 56 women, 5 children, gender 6 people have not been established. Measures are underway to identify the dead and establish the causes of their death,” the Ministry of Internal Affairs informs.
In addition, it is reported that 45 burials were found in the liberated territories, of which 33 were in Svyatogorsk and 12 in Lyman. However, this data is not conclusive, as the police receive information about new graves from residents every day. Only in recent days it became known about 17 more such burials.
