The Day of the Air Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces is celebrated in accordance with the Presidential Decree of June 27, 2007, on the first Sunday of August. The history of world aviation is closely connected with the Ukrainian land.
The holiday was established in Ukraine “…taking into account the importance of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in ensuring the defense capability of the state…” in accordance with the Decree of the President of Ukraine “On the Day of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine” dated June 27, 2007 No. 579/2007.
With the establishment of the Air Force Day of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Air Defense Forces Day was canceled.
