Referring to the press service of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry, this matter was discussed during the first telephone conversation between officials.
The officials discussed cooperation priorities and the timetable for political contacts between the two countries in 2021. Cassis accepted Koliba’s invitation to visit Ukraine in the second half of this year. The two parties also agreed to hold political consultations in the near future between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Switzerland.
He thanked Kuliba for the steadfast support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, and for providing practical assistance in overcoming the effects of the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine.
The minister also specified the tasks of the Crimean Platform as an international form to unify efforts aimed at decommissioning the occupation of Crimea and reiterated the invitation to the Swiss leadership to participate in the inaugural summit of the forum and the celebrations of the 30th anniversary of Ukraine’s independence.
Another topic of the conversation was preparation for the Fifth Ukraine Reform Conference to be held in Switzerland in 2022. Both Kuliba and Cassis agreed that one of the conference’s priorities should be an economic recovery in the wake of the global crisis caused by the “Covid-19” epidemic.
Moreover, the two parties noted the successful development of cooperation between Ukraine and Switzerland in the field of scientific diplomacy, in particular the joint production of lung ventilators on the basis of “Novator” SE, which is currently undergoing experiments.
