Almost 20,000 People Were Diagnosed With COVID-19 in Ukraine

Health Minister Maxim Stepanov announced that for the previous day, on April 1, the largest number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 was registered in Lviv, Odesa, and Kharkiv oblasts. Kyiv is only in sixth place.

Over the past 24hrs, coronavirus was detected in 19,893 people in Ukraine, 433 deaths were recorded, 10,287 patients recovered, and 5,040 people were hospitalized.

During the past 24hrs, a record number of new cases of the entire pandemic have been detected in Ukraine. The previous highest value was recorded on March 26, when 18,132 people fell ill.

For the third day in a row, they also set anti- records for the number of fatalities per day. The day before, 421 patients with coronavirus died, on March 31 – 407.

Laboratories performed 128,727 tests for coronavirus per day : by PCR – 58,944, by ELISA – 22,564. They also performed 47,219 rapid tests for the antigen to the virus. 8.2 million PCR tests have been conducted in Ukraine so far.

Over the last 24 hours, the largest number of confirmed cases was registered in Lviv (1668), Odesa (1608), Kharkiv (1494), Khmelnytsky (1351), and Dnipropetrovsk (1178), Kyiv (1156) oblasts, and Kyiv (1164).

In total, 1,711,630 people fell ill during the pandemic in Ukraine, of which 1,333,370 recovered and 33,679 fatalities.

Quarantine to counter the spread of a new type of coronavirus in Ukraine was introduced on March 12, 2020. Then it was repeatedly continued and in the summer transfer to the form of adaptive quarantine.
