The ceremony was attended by the Governor of the Fergana Region Khairallo Bozorov and the Governor of the Patkin Umurbek Sofanaliev Region.
This event is significant for the pocket Sukh family, which includes about 80,000 people. So far, the Sukhs, who have traveled 80 kilometers to the regional center via the Vodel customs border post in the Ferghana region, have free access to the 19-kilometer route.
At first, trumpets rang at the Rishtan border checkpoint, and representatives of the two sides greeted each other with open faces.
Speakers at the ceremony indicated that with the initiatives and practical measures of the leaders of the two countries, relations between Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan are expanding, and cooperation between border regions has reached a new level, and the two presidents were thanked.
Today is a busy history.
Although the peoples of the two neighboring countries have always lived in close kinship and alliance, the issue of opening the road through Patkin to the Sukh region was a popular dream for nearly 10 years. “We are witnessing the rapid and short-term implementation of the agreements reached during the high-level meetings of the presidents of the two countries, Shaukat Mirziyoyev and Sadir Jabrov in Tashkent,” said district governor Khirulu Bozurov.
Celebrations were also held at the “Shoemaker” checkpoint connecting Sukh and Kyrgyzstan. Congratulations were heard here as well. The leaders of the Fergana and Batken regions also presented souvenirs to each other.
