Improper watering of tomatoes is often the cause of late blight.
The first mistake
Do you like to water tomatoes by sprinkling? Then it is possible that you will have to deal with late blight, the spores of which germinate very quickly in drops of water. That is why “shower” tomatoes should not be arranged, especially if they grow in a greenhouse.
Another mistake
It is not necessary to water tomatoes under a root too. Of course, this method is better than the one described above, but there are some nuances.
Such local watering, as a result, leads to the fact that the spores of late blight are deposited on the reverse surface of the leaves and begin to actively germinate.
How to water correctly?
In order for the insidious disease to pass your beds, retreat about 20 centimeters when watering. It is desirable to lay a drip tape and cover it with mulch.
Thus, the water will reach the roots of tomatoes in the required amount, and mulching will prevent the appearance of large amounts of dew and the spread of late blight spores.
