This was stated by the Minister of Veterans Affairs Yulia Laputina during a meeting with the President of the Caritas Ukraine International Charitable Foundation Andriy Vaskovich.

It is noted that the Foundation is one of the largest in the world, has 115 years of history, and operates in 200 countries. In Ukraine, it is represented in most regional centers by more than 30 organizations that also promote the rehabilitation of veterans and their families affected by the war in eastern Ukraine.
As Andriy Vaskovych said during the meeting, Caritas Ukraine is currently launching the project “Promoting Civic Participation of Veterans in Ukraine” with the donor support of the US State Department – Bureau of Democracy, Human Rights and Labor within the DRL program “Strengthening Civil Society in Ukraine”.
According to him, the project is designed to enable veterans to defend their rights, while contributing to their awareness and resilience to influences. Its goal is to create opportunities for veterans to be involved in community projects and entrepreneurial initiatives, to participate in activities for the benefit of local communities, to undergo vocational training, rehabilitation and receive psychological support.
– We are ready to cooperate with the Ministry of Veterans in providing social services and assistance to veterans in this difficult time for Ukraine, – said Andriy Vaskovych.
For her part, Yulia Laputina noted that the Ministry of Veterans’ Affairs is ready to support Caritas Ukraine projects, in particular those that promote the active involvement of the veteran community in public initiatives to adapt and return them to a peaceful life.
The head of the Ministry of Veterans also invited the President of Caritas Ukraine to join the ministry’s new projects aimed at consolidating society and veterans ‘communities, in particular, the development of veterans’ business initiatives.
