The Cabinet of Ministers has submitted to the Verkhovna Rada bill No. 5327, which is proposed to amend the law “On State Awards of Ukraine”.

“Based on the results of processing the issue of creating the Boris Paton Prize, the working group proposed to rename the State Prize of Ukraine in Science and Technology into the National Prize of Ukraine named after Boris Paton,” the explanatory note says.
It is noted that this prize will be awarded for outstanding achievements in the field of science and technology.
The initiators of the bill argue that the implementation of the document will not require additional funds from the state budget.
