Increasing in the Number of COVID-19 Infected People in Ukraine

The Minister of Health of Ukraine Maxim Stepanov announced that in Ukraine, 1.823 million cases of coronavirus COVID-19 have already been recorded, the daily increase for April 8 is 19.6 thousand, a small increase compared to the previous day. High rate of hospitalizations per day, but less than yesterday – 4.9 thousand. Fatalities per day – 419.

Yesterday, April 8, 19,676 new cases of COVID-19 were detected in Ukraine. In particular, 751 children and 552 health workers fell ill.

However, 11,221 patients recovered and 419 died from complications of the disease. 4,936 people with suspected or diagnosed COVID-19 were hospitalized.

The largest number of new cases was recorded in Kyiv (1,864), Dnipropetrovsk (1,665), Lviv (1,639), Kyiv (1,265) and Kharkiv (1,194) oblasts.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, 1,823,674 cases of COVID-19 have been detected in Ukraine, of which 1,395,104 have recovered and 36,381 have died from complications, leaving 384,153 Ukrainians active.

On April 8, the laboratories performed 119,369 tests for coronavirus: 53,373 by PCR and 21,071 by ELISA. They also performed 44,925 rapid tests for virus antigen.

Over 8.5 million PCR tests have been conducted in Ukraine so far.

The coronavirus vaccination campaign started in Ukraine on February 24. Over the past 24hrs, 18,569 people have been vaccinated.

Mykolaiv region – 372 cases / 180 vaccinations;

Odessa region – 1,194 cases / 710 vaccinations;

Poltava region – 848 cases / 730 vaccinations;

Rivne region – 557 cases / 580 vaccinations;

Sumy region – 820 cases / 360 vaccinations;

Ternopil region – 373 cases / 490 vaccinations;

Kharkiv region – 1,194 cases / 550 vaccinations;

Kherson region – 317 cases / 300 vaccinations;

Khmelnytsky region – 1,094 cases / 1,050 vaccinations;

Data from the temporarily occupied territories of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, Donetsk, Luhansk oblasts, and the city of Sevastopol are missing.

According to Worldometer, a resource that monitors the situation with the coronavirus in the world, Ukraine ranks 16th in distribution and 18th in the number of deaths from COVID-19.
