Ilona Muska’s Neuralink has posted a video in which a monkey moves a screen pointer and plays a video game with the power of thought.

You can watch the video on the company’s YouTube channel.
The pager, a 9-year-old monkey, was implanted with Neuralink about six weeks before the video was shot.
He was first taught to play video games with a joystick to get a reward in the form of a banana bar running through a metal straw. In doing so, the Neuralink device recorded information about how neurons learned to predict cursor movements.
After studying his brain, Pager’s joystick was disconnected from the computer. The monkey used the device as usual, but it actually moved the pointer with the force of thought.
The video below shows how the Pager was allowed to play his favorite ping pong game, removing the joystick completely: The animal easily controls the game with the force of thought, and quietly drinks its juice.
According to the spokesperson in the video, the company is seeking to develop a system that can help people with disabilities control the interface of their computers and phones.
