The leader of the Ukrainian national judo team won a medal at the European Championships, which started in the Portuguese city of Lisbon.

On her way to the tournament, the Ukrainian defeated the Italian Milanese, the Slovak Stangar, in the semifinals she defeated the Russian Dolgova, and in the finals she had to meet the first seed of the Krasnia Distria from Kosovo.
However, due to an injury to her hand in the semifinals, our athlete did not make it to the final bout from Krasniki, Kosovo. Thus, for the first time in her career, the Ukrainian won the title of European vice-champion.
11 Ukrainian judokas are competing in Portugal as part of the European Championship. A total of 359 athletes from 45 countries of the Old World are competing at the European Championships.
