Two British warships will leave for the Black Sea in May. It is noted that the deployment of ships “is designed to demonstrate support for Ukraine and NATO in the region against the background of the situation on the Ukrainian-Russian border.”

According to the publication, we are talking about destroyers and frigates.
It is specified that the ships will be separated from the aircraft carrier strike group of the Navy in the Mediterranean Sea and will go to the Black Sea through the Bosphorus.
In early April, the media reported that Washington was considering sending ships to the Black Sea in the coming weeks to support Ukraine amid “an increased Russian military presence on the eastern border.”
The United States informed Turkey of the passage of two of its ships through the Bosphorus, and Ankara, in turn, sent the relevant data to the participants in the Montreux Convention. The Pentagon called sending ships a standard operation.
A source in the Turkish Foreign Ministry later said that the passage of two American warships across the Bosphorus into the Black Sea was canceled.
