Adobe co-founder of software and one of the developers of the PDF format Charles Geschke died on Friday in the United States at the age of 82. This was reported in a letter sent by the head of the company Shantan Narayen to its employees.

“This is a huge loss for the entire Adobe community and the technology industry, for which he has been a leader and hero for decades,” the Associated Press quoted the letter as saying.
Heschke received his doctorate from Carnegie Mellon University, after which he began working at the Xerox Research Center in Palo Alto. In 1982, together with the American scientist John Warnock, he founded Adobe. In 2009, then-US President Barack Obama awarded them the National Medal of Technology and Innovation.
