The United States views the level of danger to its citizens in Ukraine as red. Thus, Americans are asked to refrain from traveling to the Crimea or Donetsk, or Luhansk regions due to armed provocations by the Russian side.

“Do not travel to Crimea because of arbitrary detentions and other abuses by the Russian occupation authorities. The eastern parts of Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts, especially those not controlled by the district, due to the armed conflict. Crimes against foreigners and property are common. Demonstrations, which sometimes became violent, are regularly held throughout Ukraine, including in Kyiv. There were also politically targeted killings and explosions. There are reports of violent attacks on minority groups and the police by radical groups, “the State Department said.
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) bans US civil aviation flights in the Ukrainian regions of flight information about Simferopol (UKFV) and Dnipropetrovsk (UKDV). The US government prohibits its employees from traveling to Crimea and cannot provide emergency services to US citizens in Crimea.
“Russian-led forces continue to control the Donetsk and Luhansk regions, where the ongoing armed conflict has killed more than 13,000 people. Individuals, including US citizens, were threatened, detained, or abducted within hours or days of being stopped at checkpoints controlled by Russian-led forces, ”the State Department said in a statement.
The US government bans US civil servants from traveling to the eastern parts of Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts and surrounding areas, which limits the ability to provide emergency services to US citizens in those regions.
The United States hinted at an increase in military aid to Ukraine amid the escalation of Russia’s security situation.
