Two people were killed and one was injured in a car explosion in the Armenian capital, Yerevan.

According to the emergency service, the car exploded on April 22 at about 8 o’clock local time on Arshakunyats Avenue in Yerevan.
“According to preliminary data, there are two dead and one wounded,” the Ministry of Emergencies said.
Fire and rescue officers and the task force of the National Crisis Management Center went to the scene.
A political crisis has arisen in Armenia since the defeat in the Nagorno-Karabakh war. It escalated in late February when the resignation of Armenian Prime Minister Nikola Pashinyan was demanded by the country’s General Staff. Rallies of supporters and opponents of the Prime Minister took place in Yerevan. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has promised to resign in April ahead of early parliamentary elections.
The day before, Pashinyan left the southern city of Agarak after several hundred locals staged a protest against his trip to the region.
