“We already understand that most Western artists will not be able to travel to Ukraine this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the different quarantine restrictions in each country. Therefore, we have to make a difficult decision again and move the weekend festival in Atlas to “in this way and in the lineup that we have planned for this year for 2022,” the festival’s organizers said in a statement.
Meanwhile, the organizers announced an alternative festival in 2021, which will take place at VDNH from 6 to 11 July 2021, with an additional free day added on Monday 10 July.
“We are now developing a plan for a safe and air meeting, forming a new line-up, negotiating with Ukrainian and CIS artists, planning land shares and tickets, taking into account quarantine requirements,” the statement said.
However, according to the organizers, all previously purchased tickets remain valid for new Atlas Weekend dates in 2022. They also promise to have the opportunity to exchange these tickets for the festival this year, subject to the cancellation of shows by foreign artists, or refunds.
Details of the new format and the terms and conditions for a promise to exchange tickets will be announced soon.
Atlas Weekend is one of the largest music festivals in Eastern Europe, and it was founded in 2015. It is held annually in Kyiv in the first half of July at ENEA. In 2020, the festival was canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic. Notable titles include Twenty One Pilots, ASAP Rocky, and Placebo. Their participation in the 2021 festival has also been announced.
