The rover Perseverance was able to convert carbon dioxide from the atmosphere of Mars into pure breathable oxygen. This was stated by the US space agency NASA.

Unprecedented oxygen production, literally from the air on Mars, was achieved in an experimental device aboard Perseverance, a six-wheeled science rover that landed on the Red Planet on February 18 after a seven-month journey from Earth.
During the first activation of the device, the size of a toaster called MOXIE, it produced about 5 grams of oxygen, which is equivalent to about 10 minutes of breathing for an astronaut.
Despite the fact that the initial result was insignificant, the feat marked the first experimental extraction of natural resources from another planet for direct human use.
On February 18, the Perseverance spacecraft landed near the Jezero crater on Mars. The Mars 2020 rover mission itself launched from Earth last July. The fifth rover in NASA history is equipped with seven scientific tools to study the structure and geology of the Red Planet.
The first color photos were transmitted from Mars by the rover Perseverance on February 19.
