The Servant of the People party has decided how to punish two deputies, Yevhen Shevchenko and Mykola Tyshchenko.
Kyiv. Ukraine. Ukraine Gate – April 23, 2021 – Ukraine News
Deputies decided that for a party during quarantine the deputy Nikolay Tishchenko has to pay “the maximum penalty provided by the legislation”.
The faction’s deputies also planned to hold a vote to collect signatures on the possible expulsion of Yevhen Shevchenko from the faction, who had previously paid a visit to the self-proclaimed President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko.
The political force said that neither the Servant of the People, nor the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, nor the Office of the President of Ukraine had authorized Shevchenko to hold any talks with the Belarusian authorities.
Tyshchenko’s party: the essence of the scandal
People’s Deputy from the ruling “Servant of the People” Mykola Tyshchenko again noted a violation of a quarantine. The deputy decided to hold a lavish party in honor of his wife Alla Baranovskaya’s birthday.
According to preliminary information, it took place in the restaurant of the Fairmont Hotel. Lockdown conditions in Kyiv prohibit the operation of restaurants and hotels at any time of day, except in the morning.
One of the people’s deputy’s aides stated that Tyshchenko’s wife’s birthday celebration was held at the “servants of the people” house. However, journalists managed to capture his car near the hotel, where the party probably took place.
Police have launched criminal proceedings for violating the quarantine.
Tishchenko himself stated that he did not violate the quarantine.
People’s Deputy Shevchenko meets with Lukashenko
People’s Deputy from the “Servant of the People” Yevhen Shevchenko met with Alexander Lukashenko in Belarus.
At the same time, Ukraine does not recognize the legitimacy of Lukashenko’s presidency of Belarus, given the course of the election campaign in Belarus and the brutal suppression of protests against the results of the 2020 presidential election.
After the presidential election, the Lukashenko regime repeatedly made unfriendly statements against Ukraine, accusing it of interfering in the internal affairs of Belarus.
