However, the minister added that before submitting an application to the UN, this territory must be included in the national list of cultural and historical heritage.
Alexander Tkachenko argues that such a decision will be an important step towards making Chernobyl a unique attraction. In addition, this territory is important not only for Ukraine but also for the rest of the world.
“The importance of the Chernobyl zone lies far beyond the borders of Ukraine … It is not only about memory, but also about the history and rights of people,” Oleksandr Tkachenko emphasizes.
Let’s remind that in Transcarpathia they produce liqueur “Atomik”, which is made on the basis of apples. Everything would be fine, if not for one detail – these fruits are grown in the exclusion zone. An unusual liqueur is produced by the First Transcarpathian Palincharnya enterprise. In addition to apples from the exclusion zone, water from the Jurassic aquifer, which runs in the ChNPP zone, is also used for production. There is a mark on the bottle of alcoholic beverage that it is Chernobyl apple liqueur. You can read more about the drink and see the photos in our material.
Also, the site “Comments” previously reported that they want to return to life, abandoned by people because of the terrible accident at the nuclear power plant, Chernobyl, developing tourism there. In addition, they want to turn it into a place of rethinking and memory. Thus, the State Agency for Tourism Development, the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources, the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy, and the State Agency for Management of the Exclusion Zone signed a memorandum of cooperation to create favorable conditions for the development of tourism in Chernobyl.
