Microsoft founder Bill Gates launched a large-scale program to raise funds from around the world to develop clean technologies and reduce the negative impact on the global climate.

This was announced on Friday at the Environmental Leaders Summit organized by the US administration, according to the same Ukrainform correspondent.
In this regard, he said, “I am working with partners on a new program, which we call the catalyst for an energy breakthrough. Gates said he would raise money from governments, philanthropists, and companies to make the major investments needed to bring down the cost of promising new technologies.
He noted that almost all available “zero emissions” technologies are more expensive than their fossil fuel counterparts, and therefore, the program began creating the conditions for “green products” to be competitive. It will also help create a large number of jobs and bring clean technologies to human life.
He stressed that national governments and large corporations should continue to do three important things. First, it is about developing and testing penetration technologies. Second, it is imperative to attract energy markets to finance and attract “green” innovations in order to pave the way for competition. Third, governments and companies must pursue policies that make this process faster and cheaper.
“International cooperation is necessary to achieve these goals,” Gates said.
