The Dutch government has decided to ban all passenger flights from India due to the rapid spread of the coronavirus in that country. This is stated in a press release issued by the Dutch authorities on Sunday.

“According to the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers, the ban will take effect on April 26 at 18:00, – the document says. – The decision does not apply to medical personnel and cargo flights.” The ban is valid at least until May 1.
Earlier, the head of the British government Boris Johnson promised to provide support to India in connection with the growing rate of the virus in the country and the lack of resources to combat the disease. With the first batch of British aid, the Indian government will receive 495 oxygen concentrators, as well as 120 non-invasive ventilators.
For the fourth day in a row, India has registered more than 300,000 cases of coronavirus infection and more than 2,000 deaths. More than 200,000 cases of infection have been detected in the country since April 15. According to some experts, while maintaining this rate, the daily increase in the number of patients in May may reach 500 thousand.
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday held an emergency government meeting amid reports that the country’s medical facilities are experiencing acute shortages of oxygen, drugs, and free beds. The Cabinet of Ministers has abolished tariffs on imports of vaccines, a number of drugs, medical oxygen, and related medical equipment for three months to increase their availability.
Earlier, the United States said it would provide additional assistance to India in connection with the situation with the coronavirus.
In particular, France has stated that it will send a consignment of oxygen equipment to India to combat the pandemic.
