China will launch an automated interplanetary station (AMS) “Change-6” as part of an unmanned lunar exploration mission in 2024. This was announced at a press conference by the head of the Chinese Center for Lunar Studies at the State Administration of Defense Science, Technology and Industry of China Hu Hao, who is responsible, in particular, for the mission.

Change-6 is expected to be equipped with equipment from Russia, France, Sweden, and Italy.
In addition, as stated in the Sino-Russian statement, Roscosmos and the Chinese National Space Administration (CNSA) are looking for international partners to establish the International Scientific Lunar Station (IMS).
MNMS is an experimental complex on the surface and orbit of the Earth’s natural satellite. Beijing and Moscow plan that the station will have the possibility of long-term unmanned operation with the prospect of human presence.
Change-6’s mission is to “automatically collect lunar soil samples for comprehensive analysis and study,” Hu Hao said.
In December 2020, the capsule of the Chinese probe “Change-5” successfully returned to Earth. The device was launched on November 24 last year, landed on the visible side of the moon, and spent two days collecting soil using a drilling rig and a manipulator.
In 2014, China became the third country after the Soviet Union and the United States to launch a spacecraft to the moon capable of going back. In eight days, the drone flew around the Earth’s natural satellite, covering a distance of 840 thousand kilometers, and landed in the autonomous region of Inner Mongolia in northern China. The launch of the spacecraft was a preparation for the third, final stage of China’s lunar exploration program. This mission was based on the modules “Change-5” and “Change-6”.
