A rare collectible card with the autograph of American basketball player LeBron James sold at auction for $ 5.2 million. This was reported by the press service of the auction house PWCC Marketplace.
Kyiv. Ukraine. Ukraine Gate – April 27, 2021 – Sport
The card was issued in 2003 in the amount of 23 pieces. The condition of the sold copy is estimated as “the third-best of the existing ones”. The buyer preferred to remain anonymous.
$ 5.2 million – a repeat of the record value of sports cards. In 1952, the collection card of baseball player Mickey Mantle was sold for the same amount.
James is a four-time NBA champion, four times recognized as the best player in the regular season and the most valuable player in the final series of the playoffs. This season, the 36-year-old forward is averaging 25.8 points, making 8.1 rebounds and 8.0 assists. Another leader, Anthony Davis, has not yet recovered from the Lakers after an injury. The current NBA champion is ranked third in the Western Conference.
