The CEC (Central Election Commission) registered Andriy Aksyonov, a People’s Deputy, who won the by-elections to the Verkhovna Rada in the G50 constituency in the Donetsk region.

“The Central Election Commission decides to register the People’s Deputy of Ukraine elected in the by-elections of the People’s Deputy of Ukraine on March 28, 2021. In the single-mandate constituency № 50: Aksonov Andriy Anatoliyovych,” the text of the resolution reads.
The CEC decided to issue a temporary certificate to the registered People’s Deputy and to send a copy of this resolution to the Verkhovna Rada.
According to the CEC, Andriy Aksyonov, born in 1971, lives in the village of Novodonetske, Kramatorsk District, Donetsk Oblast.
The results of the by-elections of the People’s Deputy of Ukraine in OBO № 50 (Pokrovsk, Donetsk region) were established on April 9, 2021, recording the victory of the candidate from the “Order” party Andriy Aksyonov. Aksonov received 19,949 votes (65.46%). “During the consideration of the issue, the CEC reacted publicly to a political debate on the alleged involvement of the election winner in separatist activities and his citizenship of the Russian Federation.
The CEC explained the lack of legal possibilities and mechanisms to cancel the registration of a candidate – a citizen of Ukraine. Who also has the citizenship of another country. At the same time, the Commission recalled its previous idea of granting it the authority to deregister a candidate in the event of a reasoned request from the SBU to carry out separatist, terrorist, sabotage, and other crimes against national security, “OPORA observers said in the report.
On March 28, people’s deputies were elected in Donetsk (constituency № 50) and Ivano-Frankivsk (constituency № 87) oblasts. On April 22, it became known that the Central Election Commission had recognized the candidate from the Servant of the People party, Vasyl Virastyuk, as the elected People’s Deputy of Ukraine.
