Billie, a billionaire, and art collector, Eli Broad, has died in Los Angeles at the age of 87.

Eli Broad died on April 30 at Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles after a long illness.
The businessman earned his fortune on real estate and insurance, helped finance the Extensive Museum of Contemporary Art, which opened in 2015. Broad contributed extensively to the construction of the nearby Walt Disney Concert Hall, as well as an art center at the University of California, Los Angeles.
He also secured the art, which will be the museum’s first major acquisition, a collection by Italian Count Giuseppe Biumo di Panza, which, according to Broad’s biography on the foundation’s website, is currently worth $ 1 billion.
His donations also helped open the Broad Center at Yale School of Management and the Broad Institute, a genomic medicine research center established in partnership with Harvard University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Brod was born in the Bronx, New York, in 1933 and moved to Detroit with his family at a young age. It was in this city in the Midwest that he began his career as a developer, building single-family homes in the suburbs.
