Coronavirus in India
As of the morning of April 28 in India recorded 17,636,307 coronavirus infections. Currently, the country is second in the world in terms of the prevalence of the disease and one of the first in terms of the number of deaths.
There is currently no strict quarantine in India. There are open markets and shopping malls and allow for large weddings. And recently there was one of the largest events of the year – the festival of Holi paints. Millions of Indians took part in the celebration without following the quarantine rules.
Due to the influx of patients and the low start of vaccination, India has even frozen millions of doses of its own vaccine, ordered by COVAX for poor countries.
At the same time, the country’s officials refrained from mentioning the current quarantine during the festival and simply greeted people, wishing them happiness and joy.
