The state will open the opportunity for higher education in private universities at the expense of the budget.

The relevant bill on the placement of state and regional orders for training has been approved by the Cabinet of Ministers.
In particular, after the adoption of the bill, a new mechanism for financing higher education institutions will be introduced, according to which funds will be spent not on the maintenance of institutions, but on students’ education – on the principle of “money follows the student”.
The Ministry of Economic Development expects that after the adoption of the document, higher education institutions will compete for applicants, as the bill provides for the possibility of obtaining higher education in private universities at the expense of the state.
According to Deputy Minister of Economy, Trade, and Agriculture Igor Dyadyura, as a result, everyone will win – students will receive quality and competitive education in the labor market, and employers will receive more professionally trained specialists.
“This is an extremely important bill that introduces the principle of ‘money follows the student.’ Now the budget will be spent not on the maintenance of educational institutions, but on the education of students. At the same time, students will be able to determine the educational institution independently, choosing between public, municipal and private. This will help improve the quality of education, as universities will compete for applicants, “said the Deputy Minister of Economic Development.
It is planned that the implementation of this principle of financing higher education institutions will increase the efficiency of the distribution of free places between students of higher, professional higher, and professional education.
