According to the company’s report, several large “holes” were found in previous versions of the drivers. The most dangerous is the vulnerability CVE-2021-1074, the importance of fixing which is estimated at 7.5 out of 10 points. It was hidden in the driver installer code and could allow an attacker to replace program resources with malicious files to steal user information or intercept controls.
Vulnerability CVE-2021-1076 belongs to the middle danger category. It was found in the GPU display driver for Windows, as well as at the Linux kernel level. With its help, attackers could launch network attacks to steal or damage confidential information.
The current version of the driver is closed by two other vulnerabilities: CVE-2021-1077, which affects Windows and Linux users, and CVE-2021-1078. In addition, the developers have fixed eight more bugs in the software associated with vGPU services. The company strongly recommends updating the drivers of branded video cards by downloading the latest versions on the official website or through the GeForce Experience application.
