The land conflict in the Ternopil region between Agroprodservice agro holding and Urozhay TEO farm continued. After unsuccessful attempts to sow shares on April 14 and 27, Agroprodservice sowed the disputed lands on the night of April 30. Iryna Skazko, the daughter of Stepan Skazko, the head of Urozhay TEO.
Kyiv. Ukraine. Ukraine Gate – May 3, 2021 – Agriculture
“At night, the disputed plots of 60 hectares were planted, to which Agroprodservice claims its rights. Although we never received documents for these shares, “she said.
Skazka said that they learned about what was done today at six in the morning when her father went to the field. “The fields were sown in a bandit way. If the truth was on the side of the agricultural holding, they would not do it on Good Friday night, when Christ was crucified, they would have documents, lease agreements, and do everything transparently. For me, as a believer, these are terrible things, ”Skazko said.
She also said that on April 14, when Agroprodservice first tried to sow shares leased to Urozhay TEO since 2018, which was confirmed by the Supreme Court’s decision of March 9, 2021, Brzezany police chief Artem Kolodiy refused to register the Urozhay statement. TEO ”about the attempt of the raider to seize shares and assured that the plots will not be sown until a legal assessment of the decision of the Supreme Court is provided by a land commission located in the Ternopil Regional Prosecutor’s Office.
According to Skazko, it is unlikely that the land commission of the prosecutor’s office can give legal assessments where the court of first, second instance, and the Supreme Court gave their decisions, but, nevertheless, the promises of the police were. Skazka added that despite this, attempts were made to sow the fields, and the police in this situation worked in the interests of the agricultural holding.
“Despite the promises of the Brzezany police chief not to interfere in the trial on April 14, the police went to the field again on April 27, as they explained, because they were approached by Agroprodservice to” promote public order on land plots. ” At that time, there were eight police crews and special forces on the field, who were going to provide PAP Agroprodservice. Police “sheltered” the raiders. I was not provided with any documents that would give Agroprodservice the right. Then on the 27th, I managed to stop the equipment. On the 28th, I was told by Agroprodservice that if the police did not help them, they would act “in their own ways and methods.” This was one of the many threats I heard from company officials who spoke many times about the physical violence. And finally, on the night from the 29th to the 30th, they sowed plots at night. “
Ukrinform asked PAP Agroprodservice for comment. The company’s hotline said that they did not comment on the situation and could not say anything about whether they sowed at night, and provided all the information on their website. Instead, as of the morning of April 30, there was no such information on the PAP website.
At the same time, Iryna Skazko said that “Urozhay TEO” will move in the legislative sphere, will defend its rights to justice, and will demand the execution of the decisions of the Supreme Court. “When all the government is talking about supporting farming, when in fact it is being destroyed, we must be an example and a beacon of hope for hundreds of small farms that may face the problem of attack and seizure of shares by landowners. We have to help people who love this land, want to work on it, and want generations of farming families to work on it, ”Skazko said.
As reported, the conflict over the lease of 180 hectares of land between peasants PAP “Agroprodservice” and the farm “Harvest TEO” continues since 2018. The trials lasted for three years, and in March 2021 the Supreme Court upheld the right of Terozhay TEO to lease these shares, obliging the Ministry of Justice to enter the lease agreements into the state register.
Instead, PAP Agroprodservice stated that the owners of 33 shares had entered into new lease agreements with them, and accompanied by police, brought the equipment to the fields for sowing.
