Strict quarantine restrictions imposed through a lockdown in Egypt from May 6 will not affect the resort areas of Sharm el-Sheikh, Hurghada, and Marsa Alam.

According to the tour operator, the new rules in Egypt will apply only to local residents of cities and resorts in the Mediterranean near Cairo and Alexandria.
“As lockdown is introduced for locals and local resorts, the planned vacation for Ukrainian tourists will take place in the usual format. According to preliminary information from Join UP! Partners, no changes are planned in the flight program or the mode of operation of accommodation facilities,” – noted in the press service.
In Egypt, due to the situation with the coronavirus from May 6, 2021, shopping malls, restaurants and shops will be closed for at least two weeks. During the same period, mass gatherings and concerts will be banned in Egypt.
Additionally, beaches and parks in the country will be closed from May 12 to 16.
Since the beginning of the pandemic in Egypt, the coronavirus has infected more than 231 thousand people, more than 13.5 thousand people have died.
