On the first day of the world licensed wrestling tournament, Vasyl Mykhailov reached the finals, and thus won an Olympic license weighing 74 kg.

Mikhailov started his way to the qualifying final, where he defeated a fighter from Mongolia with a score of 6: 2. In the next two fights, the Ukrainian won ahead of schedule in points – 10: 0 in the 1/8 finals and 11: 0 in the 1/4 finals. The semifinal fight was more intense, but in the second half, our compatriot was able to impose his struggle and won 4: 2.
Thus, two Ukrainian freestyle wrestlers will perform in Tokyo – in addition to Mikhailov, it is heavyweight Oleksandr Khotsianovsky (125 kg), who won his license at the 2019 World Cup.
Ukraine won the first table tennis pass for the 2020 Olympics.
