President Volodymyr Zelensky approved regulations on the Center for Countering Disinformation.

According to the document, the maximum number of employees of the Center is 52 people. The Cabinet of Ministers must determine the terms of remuneration of employees within two weeks.
The center reports to the National Security and Defense Council. The general direction and coordination of its activities are carried out by the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council. The Center is headed by a head, who is appointed and dismissed by the President on the proposal of the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council.
“JRS provides counteraction to both existing and projected threats to national security and national interests in the information sphere, detects and counteracts misinformation, propaganda, destructive information influences and campaigns, and should prevent attempts to manipulate public opinion,” the statement said.
What will the Center for Counteracting Disinformation do?
The Center should analyze and monitor events and phenomena in the information space, the state of information security, and Ukraine’s presence in the global information space. The JRS will also identify and study current and projected threats to Ukraine’s information security, the factors influencing their formation, as well as forecast the consequences for national interests.
The Center will provide the National Security and Defense Council with information and analytical materials on information security. In addition, the Center will participate in the development and implementation of the Information Security Strategy, analysis of the state of its implementation, in particular on combating misinformation.
