Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Latvian President Egils Levits signed the Declaration on Ukraine’s European Perspective.

“During his working trip to the Luhansk region, Volodymyr Zelensky held a videoconference with the President of the Republic of Latvia, Egils Levites.
As a result of the conversation, the heads of state signed a joint Declaration on the European perspective of Ukraine, “the message says.
The OP noted that Lithuania and Poland had signed the same declaration with Ukraine earlier.
Zelensky thanked Levites for Latvia’s support for Ukraine’s European and Euro-Atlantic integration.
The presidents talked about the importance of launching the Crimean platform for the de-occupation of the peninsula and the protection of the rights of its inhabitants. The Latvian leader confirmed that he will participate in the Crimean Platform summit, which will take place on 23 August in the Ukrainian capital Kyiv.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy and ambassadors of the G7 in Ukraine went to the Luhansk region.
In the village of Melovoe in the Donbas, the President of Ukraine visited the Memorial Complex, where 2814 soldiers who died during the Second World War are buried in a mass grave. Flowers were laid to them at the Eternal Flame.
Zelensky recorded a video message to the residents of Ukraine on the occasion of the Day of Remembrance and Reconciliation.
He recalled that during WWII, Ukrainian soldiers opposed the Nazi invaders along with representatives of many other countries.
