Novice growers make a few mistakes that do not allow the bushes to grow normally and can even lead to their death.

A small planting of seedlings
The most common mistake – small planting seedlings. It is usually planted in such a way that the main trunk (from which the shoots grow) is 30-50 cm higher than the soil level. The young shoots grow high above the ground and are very difficult to incline to the ground, ie it is almost impossible to cover.
Properly planted so that the trunk was below ground level by 5-10 cm in this form, the young shoots are easy to cover for the winter.
Excessive watering
Very often the grapes are watered from the heart, as well as tomatoes. As a result, the shoots do not ripen and the grapes are constantly freezing.
Grapes should be watered once every three to four weeks, but very abundantly.
No pasynkuvannya in the first year of life
They forget to pick grapes in the first year of life. As a result, instead of a powerful shoot grows a bunch of mouse tails. The yield from such grapes is small. It will take much longer to form a bush.
No protective spraying
Many people do not carry out protective spraying of grapes. They do not want to poison themselves and poison the berries. And you do not want to spend money on poisons, when, perhaps, you can do without them? In some years, you really manage to slip, but not every time. Now the diseases in the grapes have accumulated a lot, and they are just waiting for relief.
Therefore it is necessary to protect a crop. Carry out three or four preventive treatments – and you will have strong bushes and excellent yields.
No shelter in winter
Young bushes should be covered for the winter, even in the south. Usually, all our territories are divided into a zone of sheltered viticulture and a zone of uncovered. If you are unlucky and you get into the first group, you need to cover the adult bushes.
There are many ways to shelter: agro fiber, earth, snow, dry shelter … Use what suits you best.
The presence of a large number of young shoots on the trunk of the bush
After planting, beginners often due to inexperience leave too many young shoots on the trunk of the bush. Shoots compete with each other, the bush weakens … Pests and diseases feel great in the thickets. What crops are already here? The main thing is that the plant remained alive.
For normal development and correct formation of a young bush, it is necessary to leave from all shoots on a trunk 1-2 the strongest and most conveniently located and to break out others.
