Vyacheslav Simchenko, director of the Skolaev diesel locomotive repair plant, has died as a result of complications from the coronavirus disease.

This came according to a statement by the press service of the LLC “Mykolaiv Diesel Locomotive Repair Factory” on Facebook.
“We are very saddened to report that in the fifty-first year, as a result of the complications of the coronavirus disease, the director of the diesel locomotive repair plant, Vyacheslav Simchenko, suddenly passed away,” the statement said.
It is worth noting that Simchenko is well known in Mykolaiv and abroad as an entrepreneur and philanthropist.
And since 2014, his company has helped the Ukrainian army, which is resisting Russian aggression in the East, to restore combat equipment: ATTRs, KAMAZ, UASI.
Earlier, Simchenko headed the city organization of the “Petro Poroshenko Bloc” party. As a philanthropist, he has supported a number of cultural projects and recently helped doctors fight the coronavirus epidemic.
The farewell of Vyacheslav Simchenko will take place on May 17 in Odessa.
