Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko believes that the reason for the tense relations with President Volodymyr Zelensky is that he is not a representative of this government.

The mayor of Kyiv called the allegations that the cause of the conflict with Bankova was Klitschko’s presidential ambitions rumors and speculations.
“We will have a presidential election in 3 years. And in 3 years so many different events and everything else can happen! Secondly, those who approach me and say, “Come on, go to the president.” I tell them, “What have I done wrong to you?” Said Klitschko.
At the same time, to clarify whether he was going to run for president, the politician replied that he would first make a European city out of Kyiv, “and then we will talk about this topic”: many people. Searches of Klitschko – what was before:
During May 11-13, a number of searches were carried out in the offices of public utilities, departments of the Kyiv City State Administration, in the offices of contractors, as well as at the residences of the participants in the criminal proceedings.
Among other things, searches were carried out in the Kyivzelenbud municipal association, Spetszhitlofond, Kyivavtodor corporation, departments of social policy, urban planning and architecture, land resources of Kyiv City State Administration, Kyivmisksvitlo.
According to the prosecutor’s office, the criminal proceedings, within which these investigative actions were carried out, concern illegal misappropriation of budget funds, intentional tax evasion in especially large amounts, abuse of office, illegal extortion of entrepreneurs, “cover-up” of illegal business, etc.
On May 13, Klitschko said he viewed searches of utilities and Kyiv City State Administration departments as pressure on the city authorities and on him personally.
Today, May 18, Klitschko said that in the morning an armed group, probably representatives of law enforcement agencies, broke into the entrance of the house where he lives.
Approximately five people in SBU equipment with weapons were several floors below the Kyiv mayor’s apartment and were investigating. According to an unnamed law enforcement official, “these investigative actions have nothing to do with the other residents of this building.”
At the same time, according to Klitschko, a video surveillance camera located at the front door of his apartment showed that law enforcement officers came to him this morning and knocked on the door.
According to Klitschko, the apartment where the searches take place belongs to the opera house, they live very poorly. The mayor added that representatives of the Security Service of Ukraine say that this apartment is being rented out now, and “some enemy of the state” lives in it.
Klitschko caught the belief that armed men were knocking on the door of his apartment, not by mistake. The mayor said that “unprecedented pressure on the city authorities continues.”
