The head of Ukraine’s mission to NATO, headed by a woman for the first time, is due to be appointed soon. The Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba told journalists in Kyiv on Thursday.

“The registration of the ambassador to NATO is nearing completion. Will be appointed soon. There is no need for an agreement, with an international organization you need to pass security certification, and right now a person is passing it. This is a new candidate, it will be the first woman ambassador of Ukraine to NATO in history, ”Dmytro Kuleba said.
He noted that the candidate is currently undergoing security certification.
The last head of Ukraine’s mission to NATO was Vadym Prystaiko. In August 2019, he was appointed Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.
The mission is still headed by Acting Heads – George Tolkachev.
The Mission of Ukraine to NATO is a diplomatic mission to an international organization established to ensure Ukraine’s continued cooperation with the Alliance and participation in the Euro-Atlantic Partnership Council. The position of Head of Mission has been vacant since August 2019.
