President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky signed a decree on the implementation of the decision of the National Security and Defense Council of May 14 on the application of personal sanctions against 674 people and 138 companies.

The decree stipulates: to put into effect the decision of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine of May 14, 2021 “On the application of personal special economic and other restrictive measures (sanctions)” (attached); control over the implementation of the decision of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine enacted by this Decree shall be vested in the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine.
Thus, the President enacted the decision of the National Security and Defense Council of May 14, which updates the list of individuals and legal entities against whom sanctions are imposed, in particular, expanded by “thieves in law” and foreigners who are “criminal authorities.”
Speaking about the results of the National Security and Defense Council meeting on May 14, Zelensky said that Ukraine had imposed sanctions against more than 500 “thieves in law” and 111 foreigners – “criminal authorities.”
According to the Head of State, the following were applied to all these persons: blocking of assets, ban on entry into the territory of Ukraine, refusal to issue or cancel a visa, temporary or permanent residence permit, the immigration permits, refusal to extend the stay in Ukraine, inability to acquire citizenship of Ukraine and forced expulsion.
