The new rules for the entry of Austria into force on May 19.
According to the Austrian Minister of Health Wolfgang Mokstein, “In many countries, the number of new infections has decreased, so we can in parallel with the steps to open institutions in the country and facilitate entry to Austria. The main point here is to provide all visitors with a document confirming their vaccination, testing, or recovery.
And from May 19, citizens of countries with a low prevalence of coronavirus infection are allowed to enter Austria for any purpose, including tourism.
Meanwhile, when crossing the choroidal, they must carry a “green certificate” (the so-called “green passport”) for COVID-19: either a vaccination certificate, a test certificate, or a refund certificate. In Austria, this approach is called the “3-G rule”: “getestete or geimpfte oder genesene” – “tested, vaccinated or recovered”. If the traveler does not have such a certificate, he can still enter the country and there is already within 24 hours for a coronavirus test.
With regard to confirmation of vaccination, a document in German or English (for example, “yellow books” or international certificates of vaccination) is required to present the vaccination with the COVID-19 vaccine. It must also be a vaccine approved by the European Medicines Agency (EMA) or licensed by the World Health Organization for use in emergencies. The age of the certificate proving the presence of the equivalent antibody should not be more than three months.
