President Volodymyr Zelensky and his wife Olena took part in awarding the laureates of the Taras Shevchenko National Prize of Ukraine in 2021.

“I am glad to be here with my wife and to see the transformation of the Taras Shevchenko National Prize of Ukraine. It is very important to see the high status of this award. The award ceremony takes place in the landmarks of Ukraine, “the Head of State said, congratulating the winners.
The President signed Decree № 199/2021, according to which the Taras Shevchenko National Prize of Ukraine 2021 was awarded to director Valentyn Vasyanovych and production designer Vladlen Odudenko for the film “Atlantis”.
Writer Oksana Lutsyshyna received an award for the novel “Ivan and Phoebus”, and journalist Stanislav Aseyev – for the book of essays “In Isolation”.
Representatives of the UHO music agency Oleksandra Andrusyk, Yevhen Shimalsky, and Kateryna Sula also won the award for a series of vocal music concerts “Voice Architecture”.
The award was also given to the artist Borys Mykhailov for the art project “Death Trial”.
Director, set designer Serhiy Masloboyshchykov, costume designer Natalia Rudyuk and composer Oleksandr Begma received an award for the play Verba based on the extravaganza drama “Forest Song” by Lesya Ukrainka staged by the Ivan Franko National Academic Drama Theater.
Earlier, Zelensky, during the final press conference, demonstrated the symbol of the celebration of the 30th anniversary of Ukraine’s Independence and briefly described the main events planned for the celebration.
