According to the official Xinhua news agency, citing the Dalian Public Security Bureau, a black sedan crashed into a crowd of people crossing the street at 11:47 a.m. (3:47 a.m. GMT) on Saturday and disappeared from the scene.
According to Xinhua, four people died at the scene, another died at the hospital. Five people are injured and are in hospital.
A driver named Liu was caught and found to be driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, Xinhua reported.
It is reported that further investigation will be conducted to establish the details of the tragedy.
In East Jerusalem, a car hit a crowd of people, injuring six people.
