What do hair, egg boxes and banana peel have in common? Armen Adamjan, a 31-year-old gardener and blogger, explains this in his videos on Tiktok and Instagram, where he is registered under the nickname creative_explained. The man shows unusual life hacks that will help plants live long.
Armen has even written a book whose main purpose is to convince the reader that not all things we think are useless should be thrown away, as they can save the lives of our green friends. Including hair.
One day the gardener combed his hair and noticed how much of his hair had accumulated on the comb. That’s when he came up with a brilliant idea.
“Most of my ideas are spontaneous. That’s how it was with the hair on my comb. At first, I thought it was crazy, but then I found out that my hair is rich in nitrogen,” Armen said.
Nitrogen plays a crucial role in plant growth. An insufficient amount can lead to their yellowing, and in the worst case, the flower may begin to wither. It took a blogger six weeks and two identical flowers at the same stage of growth with the same soil to test the miracle of human hair.
The man took a bundle of his hair and simply laid it in the ground, compacted tightly, closer to the stem of the plant, and left the second flower unchanged. Three months later, Adamjan appreciated the result, and it exceeded all expectations. Hair has proven to be a working tool for accelerating plant growth.
For the purity of the experiment, Armen repeated the same with plants that did not have such good quality soil. The result was the same.
“I was very surprised to see the results so quickly because hair biodegradation takes some time. But I would like to share this life hack with the whole world.”
