The Ministry of Education and Science intends to carry out a digital transformation of Ukrainian education and science over the next five years.

The corresponding draft of the Concept of digital transformation of education and science for the period till 2026 is developed by the profile ministry.
The Ministry of Education emphasizes that today’s system of education and science must undergo radical digital changes and meet global trends in digital development for the successful realization of each person’s potential.
“Today, more and more professions need to acquire a high level of digital skills and mastery of new technologies. This need is also exacerbated by the effects of the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic, which has exacerbated the problem of developing and mastering technology in the education system to ensure the rights of citizens to quality education, ”the authors of the document note.
It is expected that the adoption of the concept will affect the problems associated with the low level of digital competencies of participants in the educational process, outdated content of education in computer science, lack of modern equipment and technology, as well as sufficient Internet coverage in institutions.
In addition, according to the authors of the document, the concept will help solve the problem of lack of quality digital educational content for education, eliminate the problem of bureaucratization of the internal document management of institutions, non-transparent distribution of research funding for Ukrainian scientists, and more.
The concept also aims to optimize and automate the management and regulatory processes in education and science, including ensuring transparent and effective regulation of business entities, such as licensing of educational institutions, certification of research institutions, and accreditation of educational programs.
According to the authors of the concept, the ultimate goal of the document is the use of digital technologies to transform processes in the system of education and science in order to simplify, automate and facilitate them for users.
The Ministry of Education predicts that the implementation of the concept will have a positive impact on ensuring legal regulation aimed at developing the digital educational environment, including infrastructure, digital competencies of teachers and students, creating digital educational content, automation, and digitalization of regulation and management.
“Implementation of this Concept will enable the digital transformation of educational institutions in which pedagogical and scientific-pedagogical workers, as well as students, have digital competencies, equipped with digital, modern workplaces, as well as access to digital content for personal development, lifelong learning. “, – it is said in the draft document.
