Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Khaled Al-Anani inaugurated the exhibition last August, accompanied by Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babis.
It is the first exhibition of Egyptian antiquities in Prague and the largest exhibition of antiquities of the ancient kingdom.

Mustafa Al-Waziri, Secretary-General of the Supreme Council of Antiquities, said that a large number of Czechs have visited the exhibition, adding that it has attracted about 10,000 people since the exhibition reopened on May 4.

Visits are in line with COVID-19 precautionary measures – social distancing, face masks, use of hand sanitizer, and tickets reserved for time.
On display are 90 artifacts discovered by the Czech expedition during the excavations at Abu Sir, including a basalt statue of King Ranifriev.
The opening of the exhibition coincided with the 60th anniversary of the start of Czech archaeological work in Egypt.
The aim of the show is to provide a glimpse of the ancient Egyptian civilization to Czech visitors and encourage them to visit the country to see more of its attractions as well as enjoy its beaches and landscapes.
