“Last year, the season for picking fresh berries began in late May. The delay in the collection of this season is explained by nothing but abnormal weather conditions – low temperatures and heavy rains. The cherries, which bloomed after Easter, when it rained and the temperature dropped, lost a significant amount of ovaries, ”said Oksana Gordy, project manager of the Uman Fruit Company.
She also noted that, in addition, heavy rains do not allow timely fertilization of trees.
